國際商會于1970年制訂了《開立跟單信用證標(biāo)準(zhǔn)格式》(standard form for the issuing of documentary credit)：
1) 開立不可撤消跟單信用證標(biāo)準(zhǔn)格式-致受益人(the standard form for the issuing of documentary letter of credit-advice for the beneficiary)
2) 開立不可撤消跟單信用證標(biāo)準(zhǔn)格式-致通知行(the standard form for the issuing of documentary letter of credit-advice for the advising bank)
3) 不可撤消跟單信用證通知書標(biāo)準(zhǔn)格式(the standard form for the notification of documentary letter of credit)
4) 跟單信用證修改書標(biāo)準(zhǔn)格式(the standard form for the amendment to documentary letter of credit)信用證的開立形式：
1) 信開本(to open by airmail)：開證銀行采用印就的信函格式的信用證，開證后以航空郵寄送通知行。
2) 電開本(to open by cable)：開證銀行使用電傳、傳真、swift等各種電訊方法將信用證條款傳達(dá)給通知行。
a) 簡電本(brief cable)：開證銀行只通知已經(jīng)開證，將信用證的主要內(nèi)容預(yù)先告通知行，詳細(xì)條款將另郵航寄通知行。簡電本在法律上是無效的，不能作為交單議付的依據(jù)。
b) 全電本(full cable)：開證銀行以電電訊方式開證，把信用證全部條款傳達(dá)給通知行。全電本是交單議付的依據(jù)。
